Falcons vs. Seahawks: Osi Umenyiora Is Your Player To Watch

The Falcons' defensive end could have a big game.

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Osi Umenyiora has had a quiet season punctuated by flashes of brilliance, which apparently is the lot of every right defensive end on the Falcons roster until the end of time.

If he was going to have one of those big games that endears him to fans, this would be the opportunity. Russell Wilson is a great, mobile quarterback who gets himself out of jams again and again, but the line in front of him is beyond putrid in pass protection. Osi has the closing speed and instincts necessary to take down a running Wilson, and if he does, he could single-handedly stall a drive or two.

So I'll be watching Osi closely to see if he delivers on the opportunity being presented to him, along with his fellow linemen. The only way the Falcons are going to win this game is if they can limit the 'Hawks offense. That begins and ends with limiting Russell Wilson.

Who is your player to watch?
