Falcons' Injury Report Contains Few Surprises

Asante Samuel and Paul Worrilow were upgraded to limited practice on Friday, everyone else maintained their status from Thursday.

On the latest version of the Falcons' injury report, released Friday afternoon, there are not many surprises. As previously reported, left tackle Sam Baker (knee) and middle linebacker Akeem Dent (ankle) are listed as out for Monday night's game. Steven Jackson did not practice again on Friday, after being held out of practice Thursday with the lingering hamstring injury.

Both cornerback Asante Samuel (thigh) and linebacker Paul Worrilow (knee) were upgraded to limited practice after not practicing on Thursday with their respective injuries. That progress is encouraging, especially considering the relative lack of depth at the linebacker position in particular.

Defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (foot), and receivers Julio Jones (knee) and Roddy White (ankle) were all limited in practice on Friday, with no change in their status from Thursday. Receiver Drew Davis is dealing with an ankle injury, but he practiced fully on Thursday and Friday.

Regarding Roddy White, the AJC is reporting that White suffered a setback in last week's game against the Patriots. White was on the field for 97% of the offensive snaps against the Patriots, and it was clear to everyone that he was not fully healthy. His productivity has been severely limited as he battles the high ankle sprain he suffered in preseason.

The good news? We're almost to the bye week. Hopefully the week off will give the Falcons the opportunity to get these injured starters ready to go for the rest of the season.
