Matt Ryan has thrown this team on his back and dragged its lifeless body to a 2-4 record this season. Replace Ryan with an average quarterback and this team may not have won any games thus far.
Ryan's getting some recognition for the great work he's done this year, helming a dinged-up offense and putting up better numbers than ever before. His performance against the Buccaneers saw him post the highest quarterback rating of any QB thus far in 2013, completing 20/26 passes for 273 yards and 3 touchdowns against a good Bucs secondary, albeit one handicapped by a coaching staff well-stocked with doofuses. That performance won him the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award.
QB Matt Ryan has been named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week. Congrats, @M_Ryan02! http://t.co/iFQQmCsNyY #RiseUp

Big congratulations to everyone's favorite quarterback for the well-deserved recognition. Hopefully this is the first of many this season.
