Steven Jackson Injury: S-Jax Coming Back To Practice

A little good news for Steven Jackson.

For those who have wondered exactly why Steven Jackson has missed so much time...well, you're going to have to keep wondering. It's not clear exactly what's going on with Jackson.

There was reports swirling that Jackson suffered a setback last week, which would help to explain why a 2-3 week injury has morphed into a multi-week monster that has no end in sight. But today, while the Falcons clearly don't know when S-Jax is coming back, they announced he'd be practicing this week.

The point is, we don't know what the hell is going on with Jackson, even if this is the most encouraging news yet. At this point, I'm not expecting him to contribute until at least Week 9, and it's shaping up to be a real lost season for the running back. It's a damn shame given that he came in to give the Falcons a boost post-Michael Turner, but it's also a good lesson for fans and the front office: Don't get a 30-year-old running back when you can get someone young. No one could have seen this injury coming, but the fact that Jackson is struggling to recover from a leg injury shouldn't surprise anyone.

Right now, it'd just be nice to know exactly what's wrong with Jackson and get an accurate timeline for his return. Until we do Jacquizz Rodgers will need to get it done.

Let's hope Jackson is back soon and able to contribute to a stunning turnaround for the Falcons.
