After four seasons since the great revival of 2008, the Falcons have become known to specialize in several facets of the game. One staple of Mike Smith's squads that might not be known is their ability to come up big in the final two minutes of both the first half and the end of the game.
In the past four seasons, Atlanta has had 77 possessions using the two-minute offense. In those 77 possessions the Falcons scored 80 points, ranking sixth in the league during this time span. Take a look:

Not only have the Falcons finished strong on offense, the defense held tough through those four seasons as well. Out of 53 times facing off against a two-minute offense, Atlanta gave up just 17 points. Pretty impressive, right? Here are the stats on defense:

I'm sure all of you can recall several occasions where the end of the first and/or second half didn't go so well. Overall, though, the stats prove the Falcons are one of the best teams in the league when to comes to finishing strong. Assuming Dirk Koetter and Mike Nolan bring an even more aggressive mindset this season, there's no doubt the 2012 Falcons will be solid closers as well.
