Sam Baker Gets Props From Smitty

Fact: run blocking isn't easy when you're on the ground
Fact: run blocking isn't easy when you're on the ground

The much-maligned Sam Baker has taken a step in the right direction. Thus far he's been our most prolific run blocker. His pass blocking has been on point too. He effectively "neutralized" his man in the Denver game. And now Smitty is throwing some recognition his way.

"Our [offensive] line is pass-protecting extremely well," Smith said. "Sam Baker is as healthy as he’s ever been. Tyson Clabo was very good in pass protection [against Denver.] Both of those guys had a tough draw."

"Those two guys that they bring off the edge are outstanding pass rushers, and for the most part we felt like we neutralized them."

I can dig it. He's earned his fair share of criticism, but if he can turn it around, I'll be one happy blogger. Then the Falcoholic-chugging masses will drunkingly rejoice, after which they'll take a cab home. Because drinking and driving isn't cool.

Curious what y'all think. Discuss!
