Julio Jones is a Beast Man

Roddy: "Go Julio! It's ya birthday!"
Roddy: "Go Julio! It's ya birthday!"

Asante Samuel has been in the league for a while. He's had some decent talent on his team. He's been on some good teams. He has many leather-bound books and his house smells of rich mahogany.

But apparently Julio Jones is the best he's ever played with. Fast forward to the 1:50 mark.

"Oh Julio Jones?! Yeah man, he's a beast man. He's a great player.

"... I haven't really been on a team with a receiver with the ability that he got."

Coming from one of the better corners in the league, that's a glowing review. I know we talk a lot about how Julio is going to dominate the league, but you'd have to think that Samuel is a pretty good judge of WR talent.

Meanwhile, Julio is still his own harshest critic. He's disappointed with how he performed last year, and he's not afraid to put it on his shoulders. His conditioning wasn't there, and that exacerbated nagging injuries. He didn't have a lot of time with the coaches, and he spent most of the season in catch up mode.

Notwithstanding all that, he still impressed. That, to me, is noteworthy.
