Chad Faulcon Waived Like It Ain't No Thing

Fact: I'd be sadder is Falcoun's name was spelled F-a-l-c-o-n

The unthinkable happened today. Sad news, and I hate to break it. Let's just say this: either Thomas Dimitroff lost his damn mind, or Chad Faulcon just wasn't very good. I'm thinking it's the former. Definitely the former. Chad Faulcon is no longer a Falcon. The team waived him today.

In addtion to releasing linebacker Lofa Tatupu, the Falcons signed wide receiver Tim Toone, defensive tackle Elisha Joseph, placed defensive tackle Corey Peters (foot injury) on the active, non-football injury list and waived safety Chad Faulcon on Wednesday.

So much for Lofa playing into the Falcons' 2013 plans. I'm thinking the pec tear was complete or nearly complete, otherwise it'd be operable, and he had have a chance (albeit a small one) of staging a comeback.

The Joseph signing makes some sense. He won't make the team, but given Peters' foot injury, we could use another camp body in the trenches. As for Toone, that's a headscratcher, because there's a surplus of WRs on this roster at the moment. But whatever. It doesn't matter anyway.
