The votes have been tallied, and they were overwhelmingly for one man: Julio Jones.

It may be hard for some to believe that Jones could be considered a breakout star in 2012, given that he already opened quite a few eyes during his rookie campaign. On many levels, though, this selection makes sense.

Jones is the one player on the Falcons today with a limitless ceiling. He has the talent, size, speed and hands to create matchup problems with any defensive back in the league. The fact that he has a full off-season to practice in, a quarterback dedicated to improvement and an offensive coordinator who plans to play to his strengths all bodes well for him. If he can stay healthy for a full 16 game season, he should absolutely destroy last year's already impressive numbers.

So that's your breakout player for 2012, and one I fully expect to live up to his billing. What do you think of his selection?
