It's finally here. The 2012 NFL Draft is about to begin.

While our beloved Atlanta Falcons do not have a pick in the first round, this is the NFL Draft, and it's an annual ritual here for me to liveblog as much of it as I possibly can nonetheless. After all, who doesn't want to watch other teams they tolerate try to make big splashes, and hopefully watch teams you hate screw everything up?

It's the closest thing to Christmas in April, as far as I'm concerned.

This year's draft is especially top-heavy with talent in the first round, with three of the first ten picks expected to be quarterbacks. Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin may be once-in-a-decade type of prospects. There's also extremely solid defensive ends (Chandler Jones), offensive linemen (Matt Kalil) and wide receivers (Michael Floyd, Justin Blackmon).

What matters to us as Falcons fans, of course, is who falls. If a blue-chip player takes a dive due to the vagaries of the draft, the team might have a shot at picking one up. Even if they don't fall quite that far, it should knock down a handful of other players the Falcons are interested in.

Let's root for our favorite players to plummet, shall we? Grab your beverage of choice, join me in the comments and we'll roll our way through the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
