Falcons Quote of the Day: John Abraham's Family > John Abraham's Bank Account

After Abe re-signed, I was elated. I actually squealed, really I did. My thought: "He likes us! He really likes us!"

But it seems I was mistaken. I'm sure he likes being a Falcon, but Abe didn't seek greener pastures because he didn't want to displace his growing family.

Abraham has a daughter in Atlanta and is now raising three nephews, including 16-year-old Tyquan, who has lived with him since last July.

"There's no point in trying to chase a check," Abraham said from his home in a north Atlanta suburb. "At the end of the day, my heart wanted to stay here. One of my daughters is here, and I got my nephew doing well in school."

Wow. Just wow. Not only is he still a premiere pass rusher. Not only are we paying him less than his market value. He's actually a great guy. This isn't the first time a Falcon has stepped up for his family. Roddy did something similar with his nephew, although that didn't end so well.

In any case, I'm proud of Abe. It sucks that stories like these don't get more attention. So read the article. Then discuss how awesome Abe is.
