We've nearly reached the end of the NFL Combine, which means we return to football purgatory for about a week. Then the franchise tags can be applied, the league year opens and everything is wonderful again.
To guide you on the path to discussion, I've compiled a few interesting notes on the Combine coming into today. Enjoy your rampant speculation!
- There's a very real chance that a team will be able to get Vontaze Burfict far lower than he should go, thanks to his many character concerns. He's not the kind of guy the Falcons usually go for, but if he slips far enough, the athletic linebacker will be tempting.
- With no evident progress and the deadline looming, it's looking increasingly likely that John Abraham won't be coming back to Atlanta. Brace yourselves.
- Gird yourself for the defensive side of the ball these next two days. The Falcons will be looking at prospects in the secondary, in the linebacking corps and along the defensive line, so it'll be worth your while to watch. I'll have some prospects worth taking a closer look at in the near future, as well.
Enjoy!
