Peace Out Homie: Todd McClure Done as a Falcon

In this series I'm boring you with nonsensical banter we're discussing some key free agents, specifically whether they'll be back back next season.

I know what you're mumbling under your breath: "James has really lost it ... our best o-lineman - he's really going there"

Sure am! Look folks, I honestly appreciate McClure's contributions over the years, but this is a business. And as such, business decisions must be made.

Without further ado, here are the top five reasons we'll have a new starting center next fall:

(5) Age

He's not getting any younger. Given their struggles last year, the Falcons may look to infuse the o-line with some youth.

(4) Joe Hawley

He's not too shabby. In fact, some of the so-called experts have opined that Hawley could actually beat out McClure. If that happened, it's hard to imagine McClure in a reserve role.

(3) Pat Hill

He's been coaching college kids for the past 15 years. It's anybody's guess how he'd mesh with McClure.

(2) Money

Lots of free agents. McClure's last contract. Yikes.

(1) He's smelly

It's like rotten fish and cigarettes. OK, I'm reaching, but I'd imagine he smells. And the Comrade has very sensitive olfactory glands.

Discuss!
