The Atlanta Falcons Remain Undefeated, Set New Record

Think of the history of the Falcons.

They're rapidly approaching 50 years in existence. They've made one Super Bowl, several deep playoff runs and had decades worth of embarrassing years. I think we'd all agree that in terms of regular season success, these Falcons are the best of all-time, even when you account for everything that's come before that.

Now there's a new record, and it's one of the most impressive in a long string of successes achieved under Mike Smith and Thomas Dimitroff. The Falcons moved to 5-0 for the first time in franchise history. They had only gone 4-0 two times before this season, and had never managed to win their first five games. Ever.

To pull that off in today's hyper-competitive NFL, against talented football teams and fighting through weather and mistakes, is nothing short of astounding.
