Report: Chris Owens Cleared After Suffering Concussion

After suffering a concussion against the Denver Broncos and missing the next two games, Chris Owens is returning to practice this week. That's good news for a secondary that was more than a little wracked by injuries in recent weeks.

Like Rip Van Winkle, Owens returns to a vastly different world than the one he left. Now Robert McClain is the team's nickel back and has engendered enough confidence from the coaching staff that Owens will be competing to get his job back. Owens has always had more upside, but McClain is playing well, so you shouldn't assume that it will be a given.

That said, I'm glad to have the depth, either way. Welcome back Owens.
