In an ideal world, the Atlanta Falcons would be 100% every week. That just doesn't happen in the real world, unfortunately.
According to the team's official Friday injury report, Jonathan Babineaux and Stephen Nicholas are both questionable to suit up against the Raiders. This is obviously less than ideal news, even against a team without the world's strongest offense.
If Babs is out, the Falcons will trot out their usual rotation of Peria Jerry and Vance Walker, with a sprinkling of Travian Robertson. The pass rush won't be as functional up the middle, but it'll be useful.
If the Falcons are down Nicholas, of course, they'll mix it up with some cross-training linebackers and defensive ends. Sick, bro!
Michael Palmer and Antone Smith will both miss this game. As I said last week, Palmer is missed because of the terrifying prospect of the Falcons throwing to Joe Hawley—I recognize that was partly because Lousaka Polite was also out—and they should be able to keep going without Smith.
Weigh in on the Friday injury report.
