The Falcons released their first injury report for Week 6 on Wednesday with the number hitting double digits this time around. Eleven players total were either limited or held out of practice.
Michael Palmer has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders, so its no surprise he wasn't out on the field. Stephen Nicholas and Antone Smith also did not practice. Nicholas injured his ankle in Washington, but Mike Smith is hopeful he'll be out there on Thursday.
DOL writes that Mike Peterson will see action if Nicholas isn't ready to go this weekend. Hoping he's back to practice is different from knowing he'll be back, so we'll wait to see what transpires going forward this week.
Jonathan Babineaux (groin), Kevin Cone (knee), Drew Davis (knee), Peria Jerry (thigh), Todd McClure (pectoral), William Moore (hip), Garrett Reynolds (back) and Dunta Robinson (shoulder) were all limited. Fortunately it's early in the week, so participating in any facet is at least somewhat of a positive sign.
As the season goes on we know wear and tear will prevent some guys from practicing all week. Don't hit the panic button on these players yet. Mud Duck and Cone were out at Rowland Elementary School yesterday helping the students get exercise as part of the NFL's Play 60 campaign. Maybe they're just recovering after the kids wore them out. We'll have another update tomorrow everyone's status.
