Falcons Quiet To This Point

Not much going on right now in Falcon Land. I'm still in severe depression from the hilarity that was the UGA game last night.

So, since Dave is away and there isn't a whole lot to talk about, I'm going to give a brief explanation of what can go on in the next few days if you're not aware already.

Teams can start claiming players off of waivers today. Once they clear waivers, they can be put onto the practice squad or the roster itself. Veterans with at least four years of service don't need to be claimed on waivers and can be signed to a roster immediately.

A few of us were asking about Brandon Meriwether. He was claimed by the Bears today. Who knows whether he'll be worth anything to them or not. I saw where Ricardo Lockette was mentioned as well. I believe we worked him out before the draft, but we never took a flyer on him. He's very fast, but so is Kevin Cone. Cone is also a local product. Lockette might actually be a bit faster, but I'll leave the judgments up to the FO.

So far, a quiet Sunday on Labor Day weekend. Hope everyone's having a good weekend and hopefully we're all still coherent after watching the Dawgs get embarrassed yet again in a big time game. I'll keep an eye out for any moves we might make throughout the day. In the meantime, feel free to enlighten me on some of the players you might've noticed that we should pick up!
