I saw a stat today that said the Colts have had 7 straight losing preseasons. Seven! And there are some people worried about us still. Well, that should ease your fears. The Colts have also had 10 wins a season for what seems like the past 9 or 10 seasons, so they know how to do it.
Anywho, let's see what I can drum up for ya today.
ESPN: This article was posted in one of the other threads, but it may not have gotten much explosure, so I'm going to post it here. Ashley Fox of ESPN wrote this gem about Matty not forgetting the loss to Green Bay, but embracing it. It's a really good read, and with all the comparisons to Peyton he's had out there, I had no idea that Peyton was super-stomped in 2002 by the Jets, 41-0. Forty-one to zero! At least we scored! I'll even convince you we had a shot at a comeback until we failed the onside kick in the second half. Yeah, don't fret, my friends. We'll be fine.
AJC: The AJC had a couple good pieces for us. First, Chauncey Davis's streak comes to an end. He had played in almost 100 straight games for us. That's impressive. Good luck to him. Next, a Q&A with Smitty, who, unsurprisingly, isn't worried. We'll be fine.
Arizona News 13: I think that's in Arizona. In any case, for a kick of former Falcons humor, Bad Moon Rison was indicted for failing to pay child support. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. The ever-enigmatic Andre Rison provided many an interesting memory for us, it's a shame to see he's still struggling off the field with things.
My Fox Atlanta: A touching story out of Atlanta, Fury Palms Michael Palmer helped a grieving high school team deal with the loss of one of their teammates by letting the team his guest of honor at the Falcons game the other night. This is a good story.
Houston Chronicle: This was written before the Ravens game, but it still applies to us, I believe. Curtis Lofton believes the defensive problems are correctable. I think they are, too. We'll see when the season starts, but I think we're going to be a force to be reckoned with. Ray Edwards looked pretty mean the other night.
Random Funny: The Panthers only picked Cam Newton because everyone suggested they should. This is fantastic.
