Some days, I just feel like making you do all the work. That's just how I roll.
Today's discussion revolves around the practice squad. Somehow, I want you to fit the dozens of undrafted free agents, drafted rookies, young guys with eligibility and that guy with the peg leg into an eight man practice squad. It's a daunting task, yes, but you guys are bright and all that.
I'll be interested to see who gets close to the final product. For the sake of bragging rights, I would encourage you not to select eight wide receivers.
As a reminder, this is my (slightly modified) practice squad, with brief explanations:
QB Adam Froman- Tons of talent, just needs seasoning. Long-term backup option.
LB Bear Woods- Beloved by all. Good run stopper, potential valuable reserve down the line.
WR P.J. Gore-Still an underdog, but Gore has the size and speed to make a difference someday. Needs to work on his hands.
C/G Paul Fenaroli- A ravenous man-beast who one day will eat defensive linemen whole.
DE Emmanuel Stephens- Quietly developing. As best I can tell, he's got another year of eligibility. The Falcons like depth at defensive end.
OG Matt Murphy-A very tough, reasonably polished guard. The position is a bit stacked, but Murphy may work at moving outside.
TE Marquez Branson-A true project at tight end, but a freakish athlete by all accounts. Could break onto the roster in 2012.
S Rafael Priest-Lighting it up in training camp. The Falcons need to have some kind of depth at safety.
