Falcons TWESTOTE of the Day: Clabo Hearts the Red and Black

As Dave noted yesterday, the Falcons are ready to move on without Tyson Clabo. I've always though he was a little funny-looking, but goofy smile aside, the kid has talent. And apparently he wants to remain a Falcon in the foreseeable future.

"I’m excited (about free agency)," Clabo said via telephone Thursday evening. "It’s something that I felt that I’d earned last year and didn’t get. So the prospect of actually getting there is exciting. But, I don’t really know if I will get there because, hopefully, Atlanta will do what they need to do to keep me. Obviously, I want to be in Atlanta. But the thing about that, only time will tell."

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what to make of this situation. I realize not everyone is sold on Reynolds. At the same time, not everyone was sold on Clabo when he took over at RG when Lehr got all roidtastic back in '06. He's come a long way since his UDFA days, and the Vishu's honest truth is that he deserves a pay day. But given the impending salary cap, it may not be practical to re-sign him.

We've covered this before, though this level of commitment by Clabo throws a metaphorical wrench in the metaphorical gears. And if there's one thing I hate, it's figurative tools in my figurative, rotating machine parts.
