We pretty much run the Falcons news into the ground on this site, so finding several Falcons related things is difficult, at best. In any case, things'll start to heat up eventually. So never fear, all three of you that read these Saturday Six Packs, Falcons news galore will be here soon.
In any case, let's see what I can drum up for you on this fantastic day.
ESPN: Here is an article that talks about both sides of the argument that were presented to the appeals court yesterday in terms of the lockout. At this point, I just want to yell "Jackwagons" repeatedly at the lockout.
AJC: Jeff Schultz asks if Atlanta has fallen a tier in terms of sports cities now that the Thrashers are gone. As neglected as the poor Thrashers were, I find it hard to believe Atlanta the city could be any worse off. It's an interesting take on something not related to the NFL lockout, at least.
Gwinnett Daily Post: Brandon Brigman over at the Gwinnett Daily Post has been doing a "Getting to Know" segment and this week, he chose former Bulldog and Falcon D.J. Shockley. It's cool to see that Shockley is doing well and he still feels like he can play. It'd be cool to see him suit up for someone on Sundays again. I've always felt he was a little undervalued pre-knee explosion.
NFL.com: Steve Wyche over at NFL.com writes about what lengths players are going to just to get a decent workout in. It's something else when you compare what the players are doing now to what they would be doing if there was no lockout. The end of this thing might be a national holiday.
SI.com: This is just a short little article I found, but it was amusing (and, perhaps, impressive) enough to warrant a link. DirecTV has said that NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers won't have to pay a dime while the lockout is in place. I don't know the ins-and-outs of that whole package, but that seems like a decent gesture, if only something that should happen anyway, since you'd be paying for nothing otherwise.
Random Funny: People. Making other people look dumb since forever.
