Ten Best Atlanta Falcons Draft Picks: Mike Kenn

In this series of sponsored posts, we'll be looking at the ten worst and ten best Atlanta Falcons draft picks of all time. Let's move on to the best. Today's choice is former tackle Mike Kenn.

It's borderline criminal that Mike Kenn's Hall of Fame campaign hasn't gained more traction.

One of the best offensive tackles to play the game, Kenn started every single game for the Falcons over his remarkable 17-year career. He went to the Pro Bowl five times, was a three time first-team All-Pro and had his number retired by the Falcons. In a sport filled with tough guys, Kenn was the iron knight, playing the game with a steely, quiet power.

If you were making a short list of the best Falcons ever, Kenn would have to be on it. He played a difficult position without ever missing a start and protected a host of quarterbacks during a career that carried him into the 1990's. I find it hard to say much else about Kenn that doesn't just basically repeat how great he was, so I'll stop there.

The only thing separating him from the guy who is up next on our list—whose name I will not say yet—is his draft position. The 13th pick in the first round in 1978, Kenn lived up to his draft position and then some, no matter how you break it down.

Comment on Kenn's case, his #4 ranking on this list and check out our sponsored message, all of which you can find after the jump.
