Ten Best Atlanta Falcons Draft Picks: Roddy White

In this series of sponsored posts, we'll be looking at the ten worst and ten best Atlanta Falcons draft picks of all time. Let's move on to the best. Today's choice is current wide receiver Roddy White.

Funny thing about Roddy White: If I had put this series together before the start of the 2007 season, he would have been in consideration for the bust side.

After all, through his first two seasons White had just 59 catches for 952 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was plagued by drops, didn't appear to be a great route runner and just generally struggled to get starter's snaps. Considering he was pick in the first round, that was a bad combination.

Yet White made a great argument against judging players based on their first season or two. Since that inauspicious start, the 27th pick in the 2005 draft out of the University of Albama-Birmingham has spent the last four seasons hauling in 371 passes for 5,126 yards and 34 touchdowns. He's arguably the best receiver the team has ever had, and if he plays a high level for another couple of season or more, it will be inarguable.

The Falcons knew they were rolling the dice on White with the 19th pick, but it worked in a big way. Twitter misadventures aside, he'll go down as one of the greatest Falcons ever, and #8 on our top ten list.

Feel free to add your thoughts on White and check out our sponsored message, after the jump.
