A sweeping doff of our collective hat for D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who has some good news for us.
It appears the official list of Atlanta Falcons draft picks have been unveiled, and the team wound up with nine in all. The good news is that Thomas Dimitroff has that many more picks to play around with . The less exciting news is that three of those picks are in the seventh round.
The upshot here is that Dimitroff has the flexibility to take chance of guys at the end of the draft that he likes, someone like Vidal Hazelton. Or he could pull a Comrade and package a couple to shoot up to the sixth round and sink his talons into one prospect. Hey, draft day intrigue! I like it.
The two seventh-round pickups came from the Quinn Ojinnaka and Chris Houston trades. Ojinnaka did nothing for the Patriots, so the Falcons made out well there, while Chris Houston played all year for the Lions. I think I speak for all of us when I say I don't particularly regret that trade.
Any thoughts on who the team might take with those picks?
