Report: Reasons For Optimism In NFL Labor Talks

It's one man's opinion, but I'll take good news wherever I can get it. It's not like they've been shouting it from the rooftops when it comes to NFL labor talks.

According to the USA Today article linked above, the mediator being used to prevent the owners from cracking the players' skulls with heavy clubs and vice versa is a darn good one. Gosh darn it, people like him. He's George Cohen, a man's man, the kind that can negotiate a truce between two warring tribes with nothing but a rubber band and a cucumber. Or so says Roger Abrams, a noted expert in both sports and justice.

Abrams doesn't believe either side is willing to let it go to a lockout, and while it is again just the opinion of a single man, it's a noteworthy one. Let's hope he's right.

This has been your NFL labor update of the week. Yeah!
