Matt Ryan only threw one touchdown pass on Sunday. It was a gorgeous one.
With 13:23 left in the first quarter, the Falcons got the ball and started rolling. Michael Turner picked up about 20 yards on two carries and then Ryan found Tony Gonzalez for the first of three times on the drive.
Almost three minutes later, the Falcons were 17 yards away from the end zone. Ryan was abusing the Titans across the middle of the field and did so one more time, finding a streaking Gonzo knifing through the heart of the Titans D. It was a laser of a pass on a day where he threw a lot of them.
The result was Ryan's 15th touchdown pass of the year and Gonzo's eighth touchdown catch. It put the Falcons up 7-0 and gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way. I think it's safe to call that a play of the game.
Your mileage may vary, of course. What do you think of the choice?
