There's a certain mystique about the Green Bay Packers.
They're the NFL's only publicly-owned team, the first Super Bowl champion after the merger, and the home of many legends over the past few decades. They'll carry that aura into the Georgia Dome today, as well as a veritable aircraft carrier full of weaponry on both sides of the ball. That's intimidating.
But thankfully, aura and mystique and the grave voice of the NFL voice-over guy don't win games. The Falcons are a talented team hitting their stride, and you won't catch me betting against them here, not at home backed by rabid fans and Matt Ryan's incredible 18-1 record. That's magic, damnit.
So look for a tough game, but a good one, and hopefully a Falcons victory. Follow along with the action and comment often right here.
What? Atlanta Falcons vs. Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m. EST
Where? Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia
Weather? I'm running out of ways to cleverly say there's no weather in a dome...so there's no weather in a dome.
Injuries? John Abraham is going to play. Roddy White is going to play. Antone Smith will not. Alas.
The Packers are down safety Atari Bigby and safety Anthony Smith. Everyone else is probable and likely to play.
Foe? Bring cheese and beer to Acme Packing Company. They're friendly, as far as I know.
GO FALCONS! Let's make like Upton Sinclair and expose these Packers!
