It's not often we talk about 4-2 teams needing bounceback wins, but the Falcons got manhandled by the Eagles last week. They could certainly use the confidence boost going into the bye week.
The Bengals haven't been terribly tough this season, but the Falcons can ill afford to count on that continuing. An offense that features some terrific playmakers and an underrated secondary are a recipe for trouble with the way the Falcons have played thus far this season. Of course, a few sacks and interceptions by the Falcons defense is an amazing elixir for those ongoing woes.
Which is all a fancy way of saying this game could go either way. I firmly believe that if the Falcons play as well as they're capable of, they'll destroy the Bengals. They could certainly use that shiny 5-2 record, so I have to believe they'll respond in a big way. The alternative is more than a little gruesome.
Join me after the jump to get the details about the game. As always, this is your all-purpose game discussion thread. Use it wisely.
Who? Atlanta Falcons vs. Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m. EST
Where? Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia
Weather? Hardly matters, since we're in a dome.
Injuries? Dunta Robinson, Sean Weatherspoon and Justin Peelle are out. Antone Smith will probably be out as well.
The Bengals are down safety Roy Williams and running back Brian Leonard. Cornerback Jonathan Joseph, who is quite talented, is a gametime decision. Hope he doesn't play.
Foe? Say hi to the fine folks at Cincy Jungle. They're good people over that way.
GO FALCONS! Let's maul these Bengals.
