If a guy ever went from zero to not-exactly-hero-but-serviceable-QB, that guy was Chris Redman. No financial terms available yet, but if it's on the cheap this can't possibly be a bad thing.
The Falcons will, as of now, go into the season with Redman as a starter. Joey Joe Joe Harrington also will compete, but he seems much more likely to play the role of backup and spot starter. The Falcons will also likely keep D.J. Shockley around until they can figure out if he's got any potential, and they will also almost certainly draft a QB. If that sounds like a crowded depth chart, good. I'd hate to see them go into the season with any less than three options.
In other news, the Falcons are after Michael Turner. Make it happen!
