Falcons Ink Daren Stone

...Over a week ago. Still, it's newsworthy.

Stone was a sixth-round pick most famous for jumping over cars and playing for UMaine, a college that doesn't traditionally produce a high volume of quality NFL players. There's no question that Stone is athletic and quick, but he's going to have to sharpen up his coverage skills before he gets on the field consistently. I thought Stone was a nice value pick for the Falcons that late in the draft, and I think if he can stay healthy and learn quickly he could be contending for the starting job at strong safety within two years. Considering that the only guy on the depth chart ahead of him is a declining Lawyer Milloy, I like his chances.
