Humane Society Angry; PETA Aiming A Missile At Vick's House

The Humane Society of the United States is out to get bans for players who engage in dogfighting, and their new poster boy is none other than our smiling starting quarterback, Mr. Vick.

The Humane Society has always struck me as being a much more rational and understanding entity than PETA, which has damaged the cause of animal lovers countless times. But to call for players to be banned...well, that's simply not going to happen. The NFL is unlikely to ban Vick from the league for anything short of messily devouring a Bucs fan (note: not that I would mind this), so it's certainly not going to happen for dog fighting. Should he be suspended? If it's true, there's no doubt in my mind that he should be. If Goodell is suspending players for repeated dumbass behavior, there's no reason not to do it.

In case you're wondering, in the event of a Vick suspension and a Harrington start...I'm taking my season prediction from 8-8 and moving it briskly to 6-10. I think this is a bit of a rebuilding year any way you slice it, but despite Vick's frustrating problems I feel way less confident with Joey under center.

And yes, we do now have a Joey and a Billy on this team. Sweet Jesusy.
