The Newstease Falcon

It's inevitable that when I'm away from the computer for a day or two, everything blows up. So here's a quick roundup of the news we all need to know (even if we don't want to):

Len Pasquarelli has a story about Jamaal Anderson, complete with his usual bizarre details about what Anderson happens to be eating. The expectations are high for the kid, but he does seem to have his head on straight. Considering how badly this defense will need him to step up, that's probably a real good thing. I hope for his sake and the Falcons' that he's the best defensive end in this draft. It would help if Gaines Adams sucked.

The Vick story is rapidly gaining steam, even though I'm sure pretty much everyone would like it to be resolved and go away. He refused to talk about the charges against him, which isn't going to do him a whole hell of a lot of good when Goodell lowers the boom. I'm beginning to think that it's inevitable that he's going to be suspended at some point. Of course, I'm not the only one who's sick of hearing about it. As Mark Bradley points out, the only way Vick could really burn the bridge to Atlanta is by acting the fool off the field. So far, he's well on his way.

Personally, I think we're going to see the endgame of the Vick saga by the end of the month. I'd really hope he gets his punishment and goes on to become a model citizen, but life rarely works out that well.
