I was sorry to hear that the Falcons released Kevin Mathis after that horrific injury ended his season. It underlines again the major drawback of non-guaranteed contracts and a turnstile style of signings and releases: Mathis was a great role player for us and gets kicked to the curb as soon as the roster spot becomes necessary (technically, before that). I don't want to judge the organization too heavily because from their perspective, this had to be done. But I wish Kevin Mathis a lot of luck finding another team and I hope he does exceptionally well.
He deserves that much.
