Sometimes it seems like everybody's beating on Michael Vick, and as an athlete there are plenty of reasons for it. It has seemed like his personal life was beginning to fall under that same heading, but I'll give him a lot of credit for what was obviously a very heartfelt gesture. ESPN is reporting that Vick donated $10,000 to help victims' families with funeral services and transportations. I know it's not a lot of money, and Vick does too:
"When tragic things like this happen, families have enough to deal with, and if I can help in some small way, that's the least I can do," said Vick, who played for the Hokies before being drafted No. 1 overall by the Falcons in 2001.
But I appreciate that he's trying to do some right in a sea of wrong at the school right now, and a gesture like this shows again that he cares. That's all VT--and Falcons fans--want to see from him right now.
