The Hue of Jackson

So our new offensive coordinator is the former receivers coach from the Bengals, as Pumpkin Cats blogger Kirkendall noted here. His track record with receivers is  by far the most encouraging thing about him, given that the Falcons receiving corps is waving one hell of a big white flag without improvement. Other than that, I don't know much about Jackson, but I suspect he'll basically be a figurehead coach who works with the receivers and formulates the occasional strategy. I fully expect Petrino to be calling most of the offensive plays, so it may be that the defensive coordinator will prove the more critical position. I like the hire well enough simply for his experience with receivers, and if he turns out to be the next great coordinator I'll consider that a very big bonus. Anyone else know more about the guy than I do?
