A Simple Dream

After yet another discouraging loss, I was hoping some reporter would stumble upon gold. Something like this, perhaps...

Reporter: What are the chances of your team heading to the playoffs now?

Mora: Playoffs?!

(Scroll down to Number 7 if you're unfamiliar with that wonderful, wonderful transcript. Rated PG-13 for language.)

Because the Falcons have been so bad the last three weeks, I am reduced to hoping our head coach has a hilarious meltdown like his father once did. Sad. It is important to remember that the team is still only one game out of first, but it's also important to remember that they barely even deserve to be there. Mora and Knapp need to figure out whether they want Michael Vick as their QB or somebody who can run the West Coast offense, because certainly both are not going to work. Yet for once, I can point the finger at the special teams, who were insdisputably awful. BJ Sams made them look like a bunch of clowns, right down to the big floppy shoes and the makeup. Deeply discouraging game.

I'll have more thoughts on this tomorrow, but until then, I can't resist...

"Playoffs? I'm just hoping we can win a game, another game!"
