In his article for today's matchup John Clayton reiterates what Pat Yasinskas first stated in his QB Watch: The misconception that Matty Ice has never thrown a 80+ Rating outdoors on grass. Apparently, ESPN has forgotten his 130+ performances in San Diego and Oakland. And Cleveland, Candelstick and Lambeau too.
Matty Ice discusses Julio Jones, the preseason, and the difficulty of the 2011 schedule.
Over the summer King's already had Nnamdi Asomugha, Maurice Jones-Drew and Eric Winston filling in for his SI-column, now it's Matty's turn. Keep an eye on sportsillustrated.cnn.com next Monday.
Falcons QB Matt Ryan has a sprained big toe, no fractures. He's day-to-day. Pretty good news for Atlanta.

Not sure how a Bucs beat writer has this and others do not, but if it's true it would be great news for the upcoming matchup with the Eagles.
Very cool video showing Matt Ryan and the Falcons granting the wish of Alex Van Etten through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. With the football side of things occupying our collective thoughts right now, it's nice to see the organization doing things for the community and it's nice to see the off-the-field side of some of these guys. Best of luck out there, Alex.
Sadly, Matt Ryan will not be joining Twitter. As usual, some great observations in here, including the head-turning work of rookie Chris Owens.
Great article on why the Falcons probably won't be airing it out all that much this year. And, as a side note, Clayton loves Matty Ice... "As for Ryan, I haven't been this excited about a quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning came into the league in 1998. Ryan has it all. He can make all the throws, he has a fourth-quarter presence similar to Manning or Tom Brady's, and he's a student of the game. In the first quarter of last season, Ryan had progressed enough he was able to get to his fourth read and complete passes."
Thoughts, observations and pictures from Matty Ice's football camp for kids. Great stuff.
Well, I guess this officially means he is a big star? Funny, TMZ can't even make him seem like a bad guy. So nice, even to the celeb smut sites.
An outstanding look at whether Matt Ryan ran headfirst into the fabled rookie wall, courtesy of Examiner.com's Daniel Cox. It's a highly recommended read.
