Falcons vs. Rams Short Preview/ Open Game Thread

The Rams are in pretty dire straits, which makes this game ripe for an "upset." The Falcons may not be considered favorites here, I grant you. Still, they have all the same problems we do--quarterback injuries, an ineffective line--plus a subpar defense. It's going to be an ugly game, but a workmanlike performance from Harrington and the full integration of Snelling and Norwood into the offense...well, I think this is a winnable game. An easily winnable game, even.

On with the open game info:

Who? Atlanta Falcons @ St. Louis Rams, 1:00 p.m.

Where? Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis, Missouri

Weather? If it's snowing, you are not in the Edwards Jones Dome.

Fun Fact? St. Louis QBs Marc Bulger and Gus Frerotte have combined to throw 18 interceptions this year, splitting it down the middle at 9 each. While this is less factual than conjecture, I think Hall will get a pick or two here.

Injuries? Leftwich not likely to play, Weiner out for the season, Boley and Crumpler probable.

Odds? Rams favored by 3, Over/Under 40.0

Foe? Give Turf Show Times a read if you're at all interested about the Rams, because VanRam does a terrific job putting that site's analysis together.

Let's headbutt the Rams!

Makes this turn around. This is even ugly on the defensive side so far.

Jennings
Can we somehow make it so Adam Jennings never returns a kick again?  I have seen nothing from him this whole year.

5-5
Unbelievable.  Chris Redmon comes in, goes 5-5, and leads us right down to a touchdown.  Who would've thunk it.

Did I say unbelievable?
Correction, I meant UN-DAMN-BELIEVABLE!  Now he's 10-12 with TWO touchdowns, and we're only down 21-16!  What the hell?!?  Who cares! GO CHRIS REDMAN!

This is actually blowing my mind

Well this one hurts
I had given up on this game at the half - we were being run all over - but I started to perk up a little in the third quarter, and I was ACTIVELY screaming at the TV in the fourth quarter.  To come so far back, be so close, and lose it like this just rips my guts out another week.

I must agree with you Dave, there's NO REASON why Chris Redman shouldn't be starting next Monday night against the Saints.  Even though he didn't win it for us, he sure looked better than Joey/Byron for the short time he was in there.

Silver Lining
I found myself in the exact position.  I actually had to go to lunch but made it back for the 4th.  The silver lining for me was at least we were in it long enough to stir some genuine scream at the TV type of excitement.

Redman for starter?  Why the hell not?  What do we have to loose?

what have we got to lose....
....well if you ask petrino, the 2nd overall pick....probs start byron with two broken legs with his armed tied behind his back, to make sure we draft brian brohm rather than the offensive and defensive linemen we need!
go hard or go home
