Thread Of Open: Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints
Who? Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints, 1:00 PM ET
Where? Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
Weather? I'm running out of dome jokes. Let's just say the only thing raining down will be boos.
Fun Fact? The Saints are averaging less rushing yards per game than the Falcons by about 4 yards, making them improbably more futile than us. The numbers, by the way, are 93.5 to 89.8.
Injuries? Weiner's out, Nicholas is out, and I'll be damned if Crumpler plays.
Odds? NO over ATL by 8.0, 42.5 O/U
Foe? If you want to know more about the Saints (not that I would understand or condone that course of action), there's no better place to go than Canal Street Chronicles. There you'll find all the latest in Saints, including the 2007 slump, which has been very popular in New Orleans this year. Check it out now and read stuff, absolutely free.
Let's bring the paper bags back to Nawlins!

Ahem
I want to support you, but your refusal to allow anyone but Dunn to carry the ball is trying my patience. Let me spell this out for you:
Jerious Norwood is currently the better running back. Run him more like you've said you will for every single week of the season.
Sincerely,
Dave

That's It
Leftwich's injury will be used as a "told-you-so" for many writers, I don't see this injury as indicative of his reputation. He played well and the replays showing his helmet above the O/D Line battle is a shock to people used to seeing Vick pass. And now this injury, no matter how severe, will determine his future with the Falcons. I was impressed with his play. I wasn't sure if benching Harrington was the answer but Leftwich no doubtfully improved the team...
From what I've read, Dunn has been kept in on passing downs because Norwood has trouble in picking up blitzes. If that is truly the case, then Petrino might as well keep Norwood in the game the rest of the season.
The D played well, but the Falcons still lack a true MLB. Williams and Boley are keepers at OLB. Brooking's name wasn't called all game. He's not a good fit at this point in his career as a MLB and would he be an improvement at OLB over Williams and Boley?
How many years of these Falcons will their fans have to endure. Their ability (or lack thereof) keeps them in games. That costs me money in that as long as the Falcons are in the game then the bottle stays open...
With all that, I will look forward to next season. A well known secret was that Vick was on the hot seat in this offense. Would Mckay/Blank have dumped Vick after an 8-8 season? That problem has been solved so...The Falcons cry of "Wait til Next Year!" sounds in Flowery Branch...
