Falcons Defensive Line a Position of Strength

The slogan "what a difference a day makes" has never meant more to the Atlanta Falcons defensive line. The 2013 defensive line featured Jonathan Babineaux , Corey Peters, and a declining Osi Umenyiora. The rotation then had a step drop off as Peria Jerry and still developing players like Jonathan Massaquoi and Malliciah Goodman had to play big snaps before they were truly ready. Fast forward to the Atlanta Falcons defensive line and the rotation looks a lot better. In the 3-4 alignment our front will be massive, Paul Soliai, Tyson Jackson, and Jonathan Babineaux will be an imposing front line. To keep these guys fresh the rotation will include Corey Peters, an improved Malliciah Goodman, and Ra’shed Hageman. Osi should perform well in the designated pass rushing specialist role. There will probably be a battle for that last spot between Travion Robertston and Peria Jerry whom most fans hate but Peria quietly had a good season last year. The best thing about the rotation is the depth, I think the starters last year were good but defensive lines must have a solid rotation to be effective the entire game. There is no longer a huge drop off from the second line rotation anymore which will increase the effectiveness of the defensive line. Suddenly one of our liabilities has become our strength and over the course of one off season. Im excited to see these guys perform.
