White's previous deal was running out after the season and it was known the two sides were discussing a new deal. The financial details of the contract have not yet been released.
The four-year extension will keep White under contract through the 2018 season when he is 37 years old.
The length of the contract combined with White's age -- he's 32 now -- make it a strong possibility that he is a Falcon for life and one of the best players in franchise history.
White isn't overly reliant on speed, which means he could play at a high level for the life of the contract, too.

White finished the 2013 season with over 500 receiving yards in the final five games so the Falcons are hoping he can continue that momentum into 2014.
