A Closer Look At Ricardo Allen

If you watch Ricardo on film you would probably say that he has a Brent Grimes type style of play.

Was just doing a little homework and i was wondering why haven't nobody mentioned this little guy. Ricardo Allen seems to be flying under the radar with the Atlanta fan base and the organization also. I was watching film on him and he kinda reminds me of Brent Grimes , same similar game , When Ricardo came out of college he never turned heads i don't even think the front office notices him. But my point is that nobody has confidence in this guy , they don't realize how good of a football player he is , This man has one heck of a work ethic and is very entergetic.

Combine Results: 40 Yrd Dash: 4.61 , Bench Press: 13 reps , Vertical Jump: 35.5 inch. , Broad Jump: 117.0 inch. , 20 Yard Shuttle: 4.15 SEC.

What people don't see is that Allen had 13 career picks and four defensive touchdowns and that isn't bad for a guy (5'9") What's going to worry me about Allen is his size , he's only 5'9" 187 lbs. his size is a advantage for bigger recievers , causing him to get throwed around. I know he's through growing but he should add about three more pounds. But i promise he makes up for all of this with his hitting power , man coverage skills , TACKLING , and his good close out speed. Sounds just like Brent Grimes doesn't it. Ricardo job isn't promised but my thoughts are that Altanta will keep him around for special teams purposes if he doesn't have the skill set to play quality snaps. I would love to see him as a 4th option but he has veteran talent ahead of him Robert McClain, Javier Arenas, and Josh Wilson.

My prediction for him if he makes the team

2014 stats: 19 Tacks, 3 TFL, 1 PasDef.

Atlanta hasn't signed him yet but my thoughts on his signing would be 2yrs $980,000, $780,000 roster bonus , i put two years because the organization wants him to get familiar with the system.
