Just hypothetically speaking.
If Atlanta decides to give the veteran a shot this is how I would expect the outcome.

These are just my thoughts, I know he will definitely get the job once the Falcons part ways with Osi Umenyiora, But his position battle won't be over with yet - Let's not forget he still has to compete with Tyson Jackson, Jonathan Babineaux, Corey Peters, Ra'shede Hageman, And
We all know that -Cough , Cough , Cough , Peria Jerry job isn't promised so that's a foot in door right there! Maybe it's a arm in there too. Keep in mind that when he was in Jacksonville he was subed at OLB , and ILB sometimes he would drop back in coverage and stick to TE's like glue running down the field! Something that Peria or Osi can't do. IF he arrives in the ATL i look for Smitty to try and see if he can fill the void for Sean Weatherspoon if not then he'll stick around at DE. Now about this guy's coverage ability i'm betting you all are thinking Richard Sherman and Brandon Flowers type covering! Not really, Jason Babin coverage skills are used best for CLUTCH situations not to try to shut Jimmy Graham down the whole game. So we can't really depend on that only his ability to get to the QB's.
