Brandon Flowers to Atlanta is the latest possibility all the Falcons fans are watering at the mouth for. I'll admit I'm with them. I'm going to keep you up to date with who's in and who's out as well as how likely it is another team signs him.
We now know that 10 teams have contacted Brandon flowers, of those 10 teams the ones listed are Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, and Minnesota.
Who's out?: The Redskins have officially announced they are out of the running for him via the Washington post. Which is a nice sigh of relief, it is also believed that the 49ers are out, but they are amoung the obvious teams not in play.
Who's in? Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, Minnesota, and 6 mystery teams. Among those teams is the New York jets.who have been reported 'reaching out' to Brandon Flowers by gang green nation.
Likely hood of these happening? by rank
1. Atlanta is the favorite here for obvious reasons. The organization has the cap room needed and he should only cost 3.5-4.5 mil a year which is very reasonable for a probowl corner. There is also the GM connection.
2. Ravens they may not have the cap like us but they are in need of a corner. There have been reports coming out that the Ravens have offered Flowers a contract, more will be reported shortly. Ozzie is no TD and his hair will never reach such extravagant lengths as Thomas' but he does a great job of signing good palyers and they are the team I'm most worried about.
3. Minnesota Vikings, he's not a great fit for their defense, he also wants to be put in a position to win. I think Minnesota can certainly contend soon with Bridgewater but right now for a player you don't see much concrete. They have about 7.7 mil in cap space.
4. The lions. they just cut Houston and in need of a corner but they just don't have the cap. Here's a breakdown from a fellow Falcoholic "
Right now they’re at $733,418 unless I’m reading this wrong. $1,133,418 before cutting Houston who gave them a -$400,000 in cap savings for a total of $733,418.
They’d have to cut a few more guys to pay for him."
That's the state of everything right now. Keep the hope alive. #RiseUp!
