Jeremiah Attoachu: The Perfect Falcon?

A quick look at jeremiah attoachu shows what looks to be a good scheme fit.

Once you look more closely, you can see he is the perfect fit, and has all the traits TD and MS want. Let's take a look.

Versatility

For 3 years of his college career, Jeremiah Attoachu played OLB, and played it very well, defending against the run, and rushing the passer.

For his senior year, in his first year under a new defensive coordinator, he played DE. In this new role, he dominated. He rushed the passer very well, but also was a very good edge-setter against the run.

His ability to play the 4-3 and the 3-4 is something that will be valued a lot, as recent statements from Mike Smith show. But the trait that could sell him is his ability to drop into coverage.

Attoachu's ability in coverage gives me images of kroy biermann at the beginning of this past season. Attoachu looks natural and plays with fluidity. The FO is very high on biermann's skills as far as I can tell, and Nolan loves dropping rushers into coverage to create confusion.

Great Character

For one thing, Attoachu never seems to not give full effort, and doesn't give up.

If you look at the 2012 season, a season where attoachu's Defensive coordinator was fired halfway through the season, he still managed 10 sacks, 12 TFLs, and 69 tackles. That tells me that despite what would have seemed like a lost season, he played with effort.

It also is important to note that despite bad defensive play calling, he still managed sacks, which indicates athleticism.

Another indicator of his good character is that he was a defensive captain, which is kinda common among TD draft picks, if you haven't noticed. He also is a senior, a popular thing among TD picks aswell.

Good intangibles

Tommy D seems to like his players to have good intangibles. Attoachu has a lot of them. For one, he graduated from GT which is a pretty tough school, so intelligence is probably not an issue for him. He displays very good football instincts, and also has good field vision, imo. He has good natural athleticism, and good technique with a lot of pass rush moves.

For these things, I think Attoachu is the best scheme fit for us in the entire draft. Thoughts?
