Falcons hosting locals day tomorrow, D.J. Adams and Kadeem Wise to partake

Fact: Kadeem Wise once played on the same field as some NFL prospects

When it comes to giving local kids a look prior to the draft, the Falcons always do a nice job. That trend will continue Tuesday, when the Falcons will play host Norcross graduate D.J. Adams and Berkmar graduate Kadeem Wise.

Adams played at Maryland for 2 years before transferring to Portland State. He was an honorable mention 5A All-State RB his senior year of high school, amassing 1,600 rushing yards and helping Norcross to an 8-4 record. He'd go on to play in the North-South all star game, ultimately receiving more than 50 college offers. He transferred to Portland State after his playing time decreased significantly in his sophomore year at Maryland. Adams projects as a complementary, undersized bruiser at the next level, lacking the elite speed many draft pundits covet. He will likely go undrafted, so a good workout could earn him a camp invite.

Wise is a heady speedster who had the highest GPA on the Berkmar varsity roster as a senior. He started all 45 UT-Chattanooga games during his 4 year tenure, earning All-SoCon honors each year. We probably shouldn't read into it too much, but the Falcons were one of 5 NFL teams in attendance at Wise's Pro Day. I say we shouldn't read into it because former pre-season All-American WR Orlandus Harris also participated. Harris didn't play for Chatanooga, but he blew out his knee during his junior year at Eastern Kentucky and is now trying to make the jump to the NFL. Wise similarly projects as an undrafted free agent.
