I think we are moving to 3-4 based on the latest stuff from this site, so here's how I think we ought to handle it from a fans perspective.
Michael Mitchell FS
Lamarr Houston:3-4 DE
Paul Soliai: NT
Roger Safold: Whoever is playing the worst on the O-line (LT, RT, RG)
This may be optimistic, but I think we could potentially get all these guys at around 20-24 mil of cap space.
6th pick: Kalil Mack OLB, in order to run a successful 3-4, a great pass rushing OLB is critical, and I think Kalil Mack is best suited for that.
37th pick: Jace Amero TE, this dude is fast, a great route runner, and can catch the ball. He could keep our pick your poison offense going
63rd pick (Trade our 3rd round pick and a late 5th round compensary pick we hopefully get from grimes): Gabe Jackson RG This dude is an excellent pass blocker and could give matt ryan a pocket again
99th pick: Charles Sims RB: This guy can do everything really well. Seems like a Snelling 2.0 but more elusive rather than powerful. He could provide great depth at running back
5th round: Aaron Colvin CB/FS: I am an OU student, therefore I am in love with Colvin. He was a potential first rounder before his injury. He is a great playmaker, and at times he can lock down his man. He's got great size and hands. What people might also not know is the fact that he played safety for us his sophomore year and was great at that as well. He led the team in tackles that year.
6th round: Rayn Carrethers NT: Provides depth on the D line. Haven't looked at him alot but I've seen him mocked to atlanta a couple of times and he also had an impressive 32 reps on the bench press at the combine.
7th round: Colt Lyerla TE: We only have 1 TE on the roster and I don't expect them to resign another. This guy is raw potential and he's put up some good numbers. The only reason he falls this far is because character concern (He sent out a verrry controversial tweet involving Sandy Hook). Normally he would never pass the comrad filter, but this year I think we might make some exceptions to that.
7th round compensary: Josh Stewart WR: This guy looked great his freshman year but hardly played any games his sophomore year. I'm not quite sure why he went pro but he has the potential to develop into a good player.
Let me know what ya'll think!
