Free agent OT Gabe Carimi agrees to 1-year contract with Atlanta Falcons

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons added another tackle to the mix, signing former Bears and Buccaneers OT Gabe Carimi.

The Atlanta Falcons newest player is a former first round pick. The team announced on Monday that they signed free agent offensive tackle Gabe Carimi, who was selected by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

It's a one-year contract, according to reports.

Carimi, who went to Wisconsin, lasted two seasons in Chicago before the Bears traded him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last offseason. Carimi found himself as a free agent last week when the Buccaneers released him.

Carimi, listed at 6'7 and 316 pounds, has started 19 games in his career.
