#DRDS Ep. 31: Delights By Dawn and The Falcoholic Preview Browns vs Falcons

Wudup Doe! Back at it once again. #DRDS had a lil in season break but were coming with a new experience.

On this episode I have Dawn Belise (@DelightsByDawn) from Delights By Dawn, who sells alcohol infused cupcakes at every Falcons home game. An early season hit, we discovered her initially in the preseason and even caught the attention of Keith Olbermann of ESPN.

We follow up with a brief chat with Dave Choate of the SB Nation blog The Falcoholic. We preview the game with the Cleveland Browns and look into the Falcons road to saving the jobs of Mike Smith and Thomas Dimitroff.

How do Falcons Fans Feel Right Now?

dm_141119_dm_fantasy_jjones Dawn is a long time longtime Falcons fan and is looking at the current state of the falcons as bitter sweet. Being on top by default can create a false sense of security for some. I heard the extreme scenarios where this season is being compared with the New York Giants Super Bowl season where they went 9-7.

Even citing the fact that Osi Umenyiora is in the A. Problem is the defensive line of the Falcons couldn’t hold that Giants D-Line jock strap. Who on the team can compare to Justin Tuck? Jason Pierre-Paul? Michael Strahan? And a corner like Prince Amukamara? Let’s be real this season will end up short of a Super Bowl.

The flip side of that is Matt Ryan is not a QB that can carry an entire Football Team. Is he capable of a getting hot like Joe Flacco? Maybe, but the arm of "Flat Matt" can’t do what he does. Ryan needs extraordinary talent for him to achieve on that level. Tony Gonzalez is being missed like Lil Boosie in Baton Rouge when he was locked up.

Cleveland Brown vs. Atlanta Falcons Preview

Everyone is look at the NFC South as the worst division with a 4-6 Atlanta Falcons in first place. So this Sunday with Cleveland "need-a-new-name" Browns coming in to the Georgia Dome. The return of playmaker Josh Gordon could be the difference. Falcons fans hoping #12 for the Browns been wearing "kush as his cologne" and maybe the Atlanta secondary could keep up with him.

Brian Hoyer has been looking capable of playing QB and I am anxious to see how he will integrate Gordon into the offense. Cleveland has a stout Defense and is no punk against the run. Add the pass rush and a top 5 corner in Joe Haden could really hold the Falcons offense from taking big shots with Julio.

This has dink and dunk written all over it. Mike Smith could dead set on being tough and run into a brick wall. I root for competitive games with drama. Hopefully with the new found success, the Dirty Birds will charged up to be back at home and give some push back.
